The Council of Al-Karkh University of Science held its regular session, headed by the Chancellor of the University, Prof. Dr. Thamer A. A. Hasan in the presence of the university's vice-chancellors for scientific and administrative affairs and the deans of the colleges.
The council included discussing several directions, the most important one is the general preparation for receiving new students, activating the committees for receiving students, taking into account health awareness and social distancing, following up and implementing the instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education regarding the dormitories, and benefiting from the graduates of the College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics who will have priority to work in Evening studies.
The Council issued several important decisions, including the formation of a committee headed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University for Scientific Affairs to provide educational lectures for faculty members and researchers for the purpose of marketing their knowledge products for innovation, research and development. The Council also approved the opening of the evening studies in the forensic science department, and it discussed the strategic plan of the colleges. The decisions of the Council included the approval to work to reduce the acceptance rates by no more than five degrees for the colleges of Energy and Environmental Science and the College of Remote Sensing and Geophysics, according to the document of the Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
